Well Hi, Thankyou for Visiting all Things Aidey!! Im basically an out and out vocalist. I play a little rythmn Guitar just because....I can and I think visually it brings something extra to the stage. So I suppose I would come under the category of soloist musician I also Write, and play the Piano Very badly having preferred to spend my youth on the football pitch being dragged up the path for lessons by a knarled and twisted pint sized piano teacher with a rather annoying habit of smacking the backs of my hands with a ruler when I misshaped what I was studying on the piano!
Like most performers I discovered my love for music performance and singing at a very tender age at school. That has since grown into a lifelong obsession. I really started performing in my early 20s down on the Isle of Wight. Karaoke was just starting off and I very quickly became addicted. I finally decided to go gigging one Christmas whilst working as a chef. We heard some of the local artists that were booked for our party nights howling through our kitchen door that backed onto the function sweet and I thought I must be able to do better than that!! I had also at that time Compared and was a DJ in local clubs. So I got some gear together and spent a couple of years singing in local Hotels and Venues.
I then moved to Scotland ( I know right from as far south as you can go to way up north). Glasgow In fact, we’ll just outside a place called Port Glasgow ask a Glaswegian and they’ll tell you it’s proper bandit country. A lot of banter and great times. Anyhow I digress, I once again returned to my love of music and performing I DJed, Compared and Performed in many of the big hotels up and around Central Glasgow in particular Theatre Land, this really was my training ground, where I learned my craft and honed my skills.
After 6 fab years my job took me down to London and back to Essex my family home. I had One more season DJing, comparing and singing back around the Sunshine Coast and then suddenly a family bereavement changed my life overnight. I had to stop singing and concentrate all my efforts into other areas. My love of music was very much put on the back burner. For the best part of the next 20 years my performances were curtailed, a massive miss to what had been an integral part of my life.
That was until just under two years ago when I could not resist it anymore. I slowly scraped together the finances to buy my equipment, Started practicing singing and building up the vocals. Picked up my guitar, started writing verse after nearly 25 years and hey presto after a two year project I have music and performance firmly back centre stage in my life! All I can say is if it’s in you it’s in you, if you have a desire or a dream Never ever give up! Do what makes you happy or you were born to do. I have sooooo many people to thank for helping me get this far. The support and love I have received from so many people is incredibly humbling, it’s been a huge journey at times filled with self doubt ( like so many performers why are we like this) and at these times so many people have believed in me. So, I am eternally grateful to so many. Much love to all…….see you all at curtain up

Well the equipment nowadays is amazing technology has made performing way slicker and easier……although I still trust my SM58 above all else. I was advised many years ago buy the best mic you can afford it’s the only thing between you and your audience, I saved for three weeks! I’m going to slowly ramp up performances over the next six months building into two to three a week by the end of the year. Having said that May is already filling fast and I got booked for New Year after only my second gigg!!
So many things I want to do! I have written a lot of stuff so I want to take some time out and write the music for it and make an album. If no more than to just enjoy the experience of doing it. I may later in the year look back to go through my old agent and do some bigger Hotel work. I would also love to do some theatre work, not something I’ve done since school so that may also be on the agenda. But for now just being out performing and having that back in my life is very precious to me x
Feel free to browse here is a store of a few of my writings.I'll keep adding refreshing and updating. I wrote so much when I was younger sadly ive lost everything from those early years. I started writing just over a year ago again. I Have found I tend now to write in Blocks. My mind will go blank for a while and then all of a sudden I'll have a purge and write ive written 3 in a day when the tap as I call it is turned on. It very rarely takes long within an hour and a half I tend to have written a piece. Sometimes though it may be a particular subject that comes into my head and I may chew the fat for a few days. Even put it to the back of my mind almost as though my creative juices are working on it in the background as I go through my everyday life. Then I'll get a sudden urge to write about it and out it comes. I like to write about the everyday and love to step back and think about stuff that we very often dont have time to as we all lead such busy lives. Anyhow I hope it sparks an interest for some of you. I used to be really private about what I wrote. I think as you get older you just think why the hell not........So welcome to my little bit of why the hell not X
